Radiation Oncology is that discipline of medicine concerned with the application of radiation in the treatment of patients with either malignant or benign neoplasms.  The discipline is also concerned with the interactions and biological modifiers of radiation in tissues, as well as subcellular, cellular and organ effects of such treatment  The department consists of three sections: Clinical Radiation Oncology, Radiation Therapy Physics., and Cancer Biology.
