The Graduate Program in
Immunobiology, administered by the Department of Immunobiology, includes twenty
one participating faculty from six departments in the Colleges of Medicine,
Pharmacy, Agriculture and Science. Research conducted by the graduate program
faculty include programs in cancer immunology and therapeutics, stem cell gene
transfer, cord blood transplantation, T cell development and diabetes, molecular
evolution of the immune system, viral and bacterial pathogenesis and molecular
parasitology.
The department
offers the Doctor of Philosophy degree with a major in Immunobiology. An
M.D./Ph.D. program is also offered to qualified students.
Applicants are
required to submit scores on the verbal, quantitative, and analytical sections
of the Graduate Record Examination. Scores in an advanced section are
recommended. At least two letters of recommendation , a complete department
application and personal statement are required for the Ph.D. program. For a
