The mission of the
Office of Medical Student Education (OMSE) is two-fold: to support the
development, coordination, integration, and evaluation of the medical
student education program, and to support the faculty and staff in the
delivery of the educational program leading to the MD degree. The OMSE
provides centralized support for the first two years of the medical
student curriculum, support for curricular developments and issues
arising in the third year clerkships, development and maintenance of the
fourth-year elective curriculum, and coordination and support for the
many community service-learning and outreach programs (Commitment to
Underserved People, Rural Health Professions Program) available to
College of Medicine students. The OMSE also is responsible for
coordinating the dual degree MD/Masters in Public Health program, and
for providing faculty and staff development in a variety of formats to
support the College’s educational mission and goals. |
